HOW A RED LIGHT CHANGED MY LIFE!

HOW MY MAGIC CAREER ALMOST ENDED BEFORE IT HAD EVEN
STARTED.... BUT SOMETHING AMAZING HAPPENED....

This may change your life too! .... I hope so.

Just image this... there I was driving to my first real professional cabaret performance and although I was well prepared and rehearsed, I was absolutely petrified, scared out of my wits.

I'd really wanted to be a performing magician for a long time and this was my big chance, but I didn't think it would be so scary. If this was "stage fright", then I was getting it in the car. I had a horrible sick feeling in my stomach that I hoped would go away before I reached the club.

At last I arrived and drove into the car park, but if anything I was feeling an awful lot worse. I kept saying to myself, "This is what you've always wanted to do, so now's your chance".

I sat shaking in the car park for what seemed like ages, but was probably only a few minutes...... No! It was no good. I couldn't do it, I just couldn't face this ordeal.

So I quickly started up the car, reversed out of the car park and sped away along the main road towards my home, my showbusiness career finished before it had even started.

I was actually relieved as I drove towards the main road junction where the traffic lights had just turned to RED and as I sat there, I thought of all the preparation I had done for this show and wondered what I would tell my family and friends on Monday morning....

There and then I decided to turn around and go back to do the show.

That was a great moment! - I drove back into the car park, quickly took my equipment out of the car and boldly walked straight into the club foyer. The receptionist welcomed me saying, "Ah, you must be the cabaret artiste for our show tonight".

It made be feel really good. I was at last a cabaret artiste, just what I'd always wanted, even although I hadn't done anything yet.

Although my nerves were really jangling, I got ready and waited for the call to do the first of my two half-hour spots.

To cut a long story short, I went down really well and was so elated as all the congratualtions and "well done" messages were ringing in my ears. To cap it all, some ladies were waiting at the dressing room and asking for my autograph. This was just ridiculous, this was my first cabaret performance, but there again, nobody else knew that.

However, let me tell you what made everything so frightening at the outset and so very satisfying when it was over......
You see, this was the premier Cabaret Club in Scotland, the place where everyone longed to perform and I had actually got booked for my first show.

There's a story behind how I actually got that booking, but the real story is the fact that I'm sure if that traffic light had been at GREEN instead of RED, I'd have been home and would probably never have performed magic professionally ever again.

It was a real turning point for me and really set the foundation for a very successful and enjoyable career as an entertainer.

I had started at the top and nothing would ever phase me again. I went on to constantly improve my act and thoroughly enjoy being a cabaret magician, thanks to the RED Traffic Light.

So if I can give you a bit of advice.... No matter what you choose to do, if you're always improving and growing, you'll always be pushing yourself just a little further into the unknown and the "NERVES" and apprehension will be there. - Don't let that stop you!

You see, if you prepare well so that you can carry out whatever you're required to do, with confidence, then you'll find the nerves just vanish when you start the job.

I can't promise you that you won't get nervous before a performance or before going to a new job or venturing into somehting new and exciting, because I always do, but I can promise you that if you've prepared well, then all the nerves and apprehension just vanish as soon as you start.

There's some tips and advice on overcoming nerves etc in the later lessons of the Professional Magic Course.

I hope that gives a bit of an incentive to learn some magic and then when you've practiced well, go out and entertain others. You'll enjoy it! It's a real thrill being able to amaze an audience and make them laugh. I often wonder who gets the biggest thrill them or me.

You don't have to start at the top as I did. That was too frightening and I wouldn't want to do it again. But just go on to greater things slowly but surely and I'm not just talking about Magic.

However, I've used magic to entertain work mates, to really spice up my sales presentations and increase my sales. I've had a tremendous amount of pleasure from magic and ultimately earned a substantial income for many years.

I would love to teach you all that I know about the world of magic and you can allow me to do just that by registering for my
